As we step into 2025, NAIDOC Week marks a significant milestone: 50 years of honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, strength, and leadership. This year’s theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” invites all Australians to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look ahead to a future led by empowered Indigenous youth. Born from a movement for justice and recognition, NAIDOC has grown into a nationwide celebration of culture, resilience, and community. In 2025, the National NAIDOC Committee also embraces a new era of independence, reinforcing the importance of self-determination and community-led vision. As we honour the legacy of our Elders and ancestors, we celebrate a new generation ready to lead with courage, insight, and pride—carrying NAIDOC’s enduring message forward for decades to come.
